One part of our three-part mission in Castleton Kids is for the hour kids are with us to be the best of their week. We want kids to look forward to coming every Sunday. Here is our Sunday morning programming:
9:00am – Kids go to worship with their families. You may pick up a Pew Pal bag or Kids’ Sermon Notes page on your way in. Children will be called forward for the Children’s Sermon, and may go to Kids’ Church for fun activities afterward. Most children who attend Kids’ Church are K-1st graders. Pick up is in room 181.
10:00am – School age kids check in at the lobby of the Family Life Center (also known as the CUMNS Welcome Center) and enter the Family Life Center for Power Up Worship. Power Up is followed by Catch On small group time in classooms. Parents pick kids up in their classrooms. From Sept 13, 2015 – May 22, 2016, classrooms are as follows: K-1st – room 179, 2nd-3rd – room 174, 4th – room 176

For school-age kids, we use the 252 Basics curriculum by Orange. Our mission is to help kids grow as disciples, so we want them to know three basic truths before they finish 4th grade:
1. I need to make the wise choice.
2. I can trust God no matter what.
3. I should treat others the way I want to be treated.
In Power Up at 10:00, all kids are together to hear a message from a leader and a teenage assistant, who introduce the monthly Life App and memory verse. Kids sing a couple of worship songs, and experience a Bible story in an engaging, age-appropriate manner. The assistant and leader help connect the Bible verse to kids’ lives with a weekly Bottom Line, which reinforces our Life App and three basic truths. At approximately 10:20, kids move to Catch On small group time with their grade level. This is a time for kids to play games and do other activities to really apply the biblical Bottom Line to their lives. They also do at least one Bible memory game each week to work on their monthly memory verse.
If you need help finding any program area, you can ask at the Welcome Center inside Door 1, or enter Door 3 or 4 into the Family Life Center lobby.
Castleton Kids communicates with families through a weekly newsletter sent out by email, and by posting information on our Facebook page. The newsletter includes a link to the Parent Cue, which has all of the up-to-date Life App, Bible story, Bottom Line, and memory verse information.
