Adult Discipleship

Making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world

In 2022 we are going to be journeying through the Examined Life. We’re going to be looking at, diagnosing if you will, our health, individually and as a community. We’re going to kick off this journey with a workshop on the Enneagram. The Enneagram is a tool of self-discovery that allows us to analyze how we interpret and relate to the world around us, and identify our core motivations–our desires and fears–that run our lives. The workshop is Friday, February 18 (7:00 pm-9:00 pm) and Saturday, February 19 (9:00 am-noon).

The examination/diagnosis will continue as we go through two extended All Church Studies covering the Good & Beautiful Series.

The Examined Life
Books by Peter Scazzero

This series is designed to help us examine false narratives we often have about God, Life, the Church, and Ourselves, and replace them with true narratives. Additionally, this series invites us to sample a variety of Soul Training Exercises that will allow us to explore different ways to connect with God and bring life to our souls. The best part is that we’re doing this TOGETHER! The Good and Beautiful series will be covered on Sundays in our worship services (beginning March 6, 2022) and in our Table Groups. If you’re not in a Table Group, this would be an excellent opportunity to get into one.

Ongoing throughout the year we are encouraging people to grab a friend or two (duos and trios, as we like to call them) and go through the book, Emotionally Healthy Spirituality by Peter Scazzero.

The Examined Life

This will be more of an independent, self-guided study–just you and your friends, that is consistent with our overall theme of Examination and Health (*Note: some Table Groups are going through this together prior to the All Church Study.)

Later in the year, we’ll be offering a Parenting Workshop, and some guidance in creating a Rule/Rhythm of Life that will allow us to implement much of what we learn this year into practical, life-giving, healthy patterns of living and relating.

The examination/diagnosis will continue as we go through two extended All Church Studies covering the Good & Beautiful Series.
