Castleton United Methodist Church

Adult Discipleship

Making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world

A New Discussion | Beginning April 26 at 2:00pm

Members have asked to dig deeper into the scripture texts commonly referenced in the discussion of homosexuality and the church. Although the United Methodist Church’s General Conference has been postponed until 2021, we can continue in our call to study, learn, and grow together in the meantime.

In response to this request, Castleton UMC will host a five-week ONLINE discussion-based class to unearth six relevant scriptures. Beginning Sunday, April 26, from 2:00-3:15pm, we will meet for five consecutive weeks. You must sign up to join this class; a link will be emailed to you to join the zoom platform. You can sign up for this class belowBring your shovel and join us as we dig deeper together!

April 22-April29 – Low Tech Option.
This four week study is a low-tech option for all ages. We will explore four crises experienced by the people of God in scripture and what God did in the midst of them. We will apply God’s work to the PANDEMIC through which we are living. SIGN UP by or by  calling or emailing Myra Jean Duff.  317-284-0806 myrad@castletonumc.org  You can receive the study sessions by US mail or by email. Included in each sentence is a phone number you can call and participate in discussion and prayer for 20-30 minutes. You can receive the study material and choose not to participate in the phone calls.

April 15

As a parent/caregiver we know this season can be stressful. So we are offering a time for you to simply come and be and reset your life emotionally and spiritually.

We will call it “Reset”. It will take place on Wednesday nights, 8:30-9:15 pm via Zoom. You can come in your PJ’s and bring your drink of choice and/or your chocolate and we all take a breath. We will practice Lectio Divina together. Lectio Divina is the practice of scriptural reading, meditation, and prayer. It will be a great time to unwind and destress and focus our hearts on God. While sharing prayers and needs and struggles and wins.
The initial group starting on April 15, will be led by Tandy Adams and Courtney Porter and is full but we will be offering it again if there is interest.
