AHEPA Apartment Workday
Saturday, May 31
On Saturday, May 31, we will meet at the AHEPA Apartments (7355 Shadeland Station Way) to assist residents with their requested needs. The help we provide usually involves cleaning or small household projects. We have previously cleaned refrigerators, bathrooms, and kitchens, mopped and swept floors, dusted, cleaned windows, hung curtains, and set up electronics. Breast Cancer Support Group
Monday, June 2 | 6:30 PM
The Journey Breast Cancer Group meets monthly to share experiences, concerns and joys. All are welcome – if you or someone you know has recently been diagnosed, is currently in treatment or has faced breast cancer in the past, please share this invitation. The group’s next meeting is Monday, June 2, at 6:30 PM. Please the church office to learn more about the group and the meeting location at church.
Gleaners Mobile Food Pantry Volunteers
2nd & 4th Tuesdays | June through August
No one should have to choose between putting food on the table or paying rent. Gleaners and Castleton United Methodist Church are partnering again this summer to bring the Gleaners Mobile Food Pantry to our area. Exact location is still being determined, but we know it will be on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month, starting on June 10.
We will serve from 3-5 pm, with setup 1 hour before and cleanup to follow. Volunteer opportunities will include opening boxes and preparing to distribute food, placing food items in vehicles, helping drivers line up, talking with guests about how many families need food on that distribution day, and giving out food to those who walk up. Allies Inc. Workshop & Lunch
Sunday, June 8
Jessica Evans, Founder and Executive Director of our mission partner, Allies Inc., will share about the organization during our Mission Moment on Sunday, June 8, at the 10:00 AM service.
Immediately after the service, please join us for a short lunch in Fellowship Hall. Jessica will present a one-hour interactive workshop on how human trafficking can happen and how others can be aware to watch for signs. When you give to Castleton UMC, a designated portion of our church budget goes to Allies Inc.
VBS
June 16-19
VBS is just over a month away! Have you ever wondered how faith and science coexist? Do you want your kids to be well-versed in the Bible and science? Do you look at the sky with awe and wonder?
Our theme for 2025 is I Wonder… and will be held June 16-19 (Monday through Thursday evenings) from 6 pm-8 pm. You and your children are invited to join us for dinner before VBS each evening at 5:15 pm.

United Women in Faith Meeting: Outreach Speaker

Katie Blodgett of Outreach Inc. will be the guest speaker at the next Castleton United Women in Faith (CUWF) unit/circle meeting on June 7. Outreach is an Indianapolis non-profit organization that works with youth and young adults (ages 14-24) experiencing homelessness and housing instability, and is one of CUMC’s mission partners.
