Book Nook at the Fish Fry
The Book Nook is happening during fish fry again this year. We need books, especially for children and young adults, puzzles for all ages, craft kits and craft supplies, games and toys. You can bring them to the coat room off the narthex. All proceeds go to our mission partner, Family Promise.
Summer in the Psalms – New Worship Series
Being human is hard. There are unmet expectations and disappointments. There’s pain and grief. There’s so much that is out of our control, so much to fear.
Being human is great. There’s joy and beauty to encounter. There are places and relationships to be enjoyed. There’s love and laughter to be experienced.
Being human is…complicated–the highs and lows, the good and bad, the ebbs and flows. How do we process it all in a healthy and helpful way? This is the role of poetry…to give words and expression to what it means to be human. And for Christians, this points us in the direction of the Psalms.
N.T. Wright says, “The Psalms are among the oldest poems in the world, and they still rank with any poetry in any culture, ancient or modern, from anywhere in the world. They are full of power and passion, horrendous misery and unrestrained jubilation, tender sensitivity and powerful hope. Anyone at all whose heart is open to new dimensions of human experience, anyone who loves good writing, anyone who wants a window into the bright lights and dark corners of the human soul–anyone open to the beautiful expression of a larger vision of reality should react to these poems like someone who hasn’t had a good meal for a week or two.”
Beginning Sunday June 29, we will be experiencing Summer in the Psalms for five weeks both in our worship services and Table Groups, as we explore together the depth and richness of being human in a God-centered, God-drenched world. Community Dinner

The next monthly Community Dinner is next Wednesday. Join us to meet others in the community and enjoy a delicious meal prepared by our United Women in Faith.
Gleaners Mobile Food Pantry Volunteers
2nd & 4th Tuesdays | June through August
No one should have to choose between putting food on the table or paying rent. Gleaners and Castleton United Methodist Church are partnering again this summer to bring the Gleaners Mobile Food Pantry to our area. Distribution continues on the Castleton UMC campus on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month on the following dates: June 24, July 8, July 22, August 12, and August 26. There are still volunteer opportunities available for the July and August dates.
Summer Worship Schedule
May 25 – July 27 | 10:00 AM
Beginning on Sunday, May 25 (Memorial Day weekend) we will return to our summer schedule of one worship service together at 10:00 AM. Our summer worship schedule will continue through the end of July.
