Spiritual Reflection and Growth
Praying for Peace
How can we respond to the violence that is happening across our city? We begin with prayer at home, at church, and wherever we are. We pray in those places where violence has occurred, and we show up, are present, and are witnesses for peace.

Pray Everywhere
These experiences are reminders that as people of faith, we can pray anytime and everywhere. Whether we’re outside standing in a place where violence occurred, where decisions are made, or even in the car.
An Advent Focus
With all of the potential distractions this time of year, we are called to stay awake, be prepared, and have focus. My prayer for today is to keep my focus on the coming of Christ during this season. It’s not always easy, but if we look toward all the things that could distract us and remember God, then maybe we’ll be focused.
Give Thanks
Giving thanks goes beyond saying thank you. It’s a deeper recognition of the interconnectedness of life.
All Saints Day
Who are the saints in your life that you would like to give thanks for today? Perhaps you have family members who lived and died in the faith and shared that faith with you that you remember today. It could be a pastor, a close and faithful friend from church, or even a historical saint whom you never met, but who still had a strong influence on your life that you wish to give thanks for today.
Spiritual Discipline of Breathing
What I have learned from Merton, Nouwen, and the brothers of Saint Gregory’s is that deep breathing can become our deepest prayers.
Praying for Our City
It’s essential for us to be praying for our city. We are invited to pray for all of our communities; where we live, work, play, and worship.
Feeling Stuck
Have you ever felt stuck spiritually? I know I have. If you are feeling stuck, don’t worry. Simply try again and allow the grace of God to wash over your soul.
