Ministry Fair

Sunday, October 19

Do you know all that goes on at, in, and through Castleton United Methodist Church…all the various activities, ministries, and areas of service that comprise the CUMC family? Well let me tell you…it’s A LOT!!! And we want to show it off to you…in a non-bragadocious way, of course.

If your main contact point, or level of involvement, with CUMC is our Sunday morning worship services, there’s a good chance you’re only seeing the tip of the iceberg. Or, you may be highly involved in a specific area of ministry, and be unaware of the vast array of other ministries that make up CUMC. Either way, we want to offer you an opportunity to see a bigger, fuller picture of all that goes on around here.

On Sunday, October 19, we will be having a Ministry Fair. You will have the opportunity to browse and peruse, and talk to people who are involved with all the various ministries (approximately 30 different areas of ministry) that make CUMC who we are.

The Ministry Fair will be open before, during, between, and after both services on that Sunday. Come, explore, and get to know more about CUMC.

Smart Giving, Faithful Living: Join Our Tax-Advantaged Giving Workshop

Sunday, October 26 | 12:00 PM | Fellowship Hall

As we enter our annual season of stewardship, we invite you to a special workshop designed to help you align your generosity with wise financial planning. Why Attend? Many people don’t realize that there are creative and tax-smart ways to support the mission and ministry of the church. Whether through charitable IRA distributions, gifts of appreciated stock, donor-advised funds, or legacy planning, you can often maximize the impact of your giving while reducing your tax burden.

At this workshop, you’ll learn:

  • How certain gifts can provide greater tax benefits than cash contributions.
  • Ways to make required minimum distributions (RMDs) work for your charitable goals.
  • How to give appreciated assets like stock to avoid capital gains taxes.
  • Practical steps for leaving a legacy of faith through estate gifts.

This workshop is for anyone who:

  • Wants to give more effectively during stewardship season.
  • Is approaching retirement or already taking RMDs.
  • Is considering new ways to align financial planning with faithful generosity.
  • Simply wants to understand the options available.

Join us for lunch at noon with a presentation to follow from David Ayers, CUMC Treasurer and Member of Governance Board. Please use the button below to let us know you plan to attend.
