"When It’s Time to Be Steadfast"

When Jesus is condemned, he’s asked questions. He’s seen as haughty. He could back down. He could be defensive. He could simply be paralyzed in fear. Yet he’s steadfast. What does it mean to be steadfast? How is Jesus steadfast in the face of threat, and mocking and death? What can we learn about being steadfast in the face of daunting circumstances? Rev. Jen S. Gibbs explores what it means to be steadfast in our lives.

From Series: "Station to Station: Finding our Way when Life is Hard"

The premise of the book is engaging Ignatian spirituality to join Jesus in his journey toward the cross and the empty tomb. Through doing so, we learn how Jesus not only endures but lives into hope when life seems unbearably hard. We begin to join our suffering to Jesus’ suffering and claim His inner strength, His ways, and the power of His love that draws us forward. We become more Christ like when life is hard. Given that so many folks are struggling with anxiety, job loss, stress of life balance, illness, and more, we turn toward the deep resources of our Christian faith; the stations of the cross and ancient spirituality.
